Peranakan cuisine originates from the community that was created from the inter-marrying between the early Chinese immigrants and the local Malays. Peranakan cuisine is also known as Nyonya food as it is usually made by a Nyonya (a woman with a prominent social standing) with lots of passion and care put into even the simplest dishes. Some of the popular Peranakan dishes includes ayam pongteh, itek tim, perut ikan and pie tee made with ingredients such as coconut milk, pandan leaves, buah keluak, cincalok, tamarind juice and candlenuts.

In this cooking tour, you will get to tour the Katong, Joo Chiat area and tingle your tastebuds with a simple and delicious Peranakan lunch in the neighbourhood.
