Little India is a buzzing historic area with a rich cultural history dating back to 1915. There are several exciting Landmarks in Little India.
The Tekka Market (also, known as the KK Market) was built in 1915. When you step into the most vibrant and colorful that is also one of the few disappearing surviving “wet” markets, you can hear a hum of voices in various languages (English, Teochew, Cantonese, Hokkien, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil) and to much surprises, buyers and sellers understand each other and deals were done.
Built by India pioneers in 1855, the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple‘s architecture reflects on the South Indian Tamil temples is one of the oldest place of worship in Singapore. This is what some visitors, certainly, classified this a must-see temple.
